THE ACCESSS TO THE SCHOOL MANAGEMENT IN THE AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITIES: A STUDY COMPARED BETWEEN GALICIA AND BASQUE COUNTRY

Abstract
The article analyses access to school management in infant, primary and secondary schools in Galicia and the Basque Country. The research carried out jointly with three hundreds of headmasters and headmistresses makes a critical and contrasted assessment of the situation of management situation teams after the promulgation of the Organic Education Law (LOE, 2006). Among other aspects, it will take a look at the recruitment procedure laid down by the law, the lack of candidates, the constitution and cohesion of management team, difficulties involved in the job and aspects linked to training management candidates in state schools. Finally, some conclusions are explained which have been derived from the research.
