Abstract

This work shows the most relevant results from a research project, where the main objective was the detection and analysis of issues that influence the interaction processes between teachers and students of immigrant origin who have recently been incorporated to the educational system. Its content is focused on issues relating to the learning process, obviating others as well analysing the contexts: classroom, center and educational system. The main results defend the fact that it becomes necessary to define and incorporate emotional issues into the framework of interaction between teacher and pupils, when not being able to understand it only from academic parameters or result’s evaluation. In addition, an adaptation of certain pedagogical and methodological proposals to the individual characteristics of each student also becomes necessary. These adaptations are to allow each student to have the opportunity to develop peer relations with the rest of the group. The results also show the necessity to incorporate intercultural competences for the teaching practice.
