Abstract
INTRODUCTION. The interest towards the integration of students with disabilities has increased in the education sector, being the attitiudes towards this collective one of the most relevant aspects. This study tries to go more deeply in inclusive attitudes in the educational context of students with disabilities according to their parents’ perception. The analysis follows the formative cycle estudied by their children (primary, secondary or universitary cycle), the type of dissability (visual, hearing, intellectual and motor) and thedegree ofseverity of the disability. METHOD. 120 parents of children with different disabilities took part in this report. We designed a questionnaire consisting of a Likert scale of 1 to 5 out of 10 items. The data were analyzed using non parametric Kruskal-Wallis test for single samples k. RESULTS. The results showed statistically significant differences (p<.05), being observed that the parents of sons who belong to University studies with motor andintellectual disability and with a higher grade of disability received the bigger discriminatory attitudes. DISCUSSION. This suggests that there are still serious obstacles in obtaining total inclusion for those people with disabilities and in creating a positive and fundamental basis within the family and the educational world towards disability.
