Abstract

In the light of the Competences’ Assessment Framework this article formulates a series of relevant principles in order to elaborate a global system. Immediately afterwards an approach is developed on the basis of the method for the integration of General Competences into the curriculum’s development. This approach is considered to be, by Deusto University, better than other alternatives, given the fact that students are guaranteed to add — all along their degrees — a number of skills developed through subject activities during the academic year. Lastly, a technique of Competence Assessment is introduced, namely, the Learning Assessment Interview focused on Competences. This is considered, together with other techniques, a valuable tool to assess general competences linking assessment and learning development. It is based on the interaction, through dialogue between the teacher and the student, in accordance with both the student’s personal and professional development.
