Autoeficácia motora, autoconceito e IMC em adolescentes da área de Educação Física para ótima saúde física e mental

À medida que a sociedade avança, a atividade física torna-se mais importante para a saúde física e mental. A inatividade física e o sedentarismo são epidémicos entre os jovens e aumentam os casos de obesidade e outras doenças não transmissíveis, o que afeta a saúde física e mental dos mais jovens. Por esse motivo, este estudo investigou as associações entre autoconceito, autoeficácia motora e Índice de Massa Corporal (IMC) em função do sexo e da localização escolar. Aplicou-se o teste de Kolmogorov-Smirnov para aplicação de testes não paramétricos, Rho de Spearman para correlações entre autoconceito e autoeficácia motora e IMC, além de teste de regressão e, por fim, o coeficiente alfa de Cronbach. Os resultados mostraram associações significativas entre AF-5 e AEM, principalmente na dimensão física. Em relação ao IMC, a correlação foi inversa e significativa apenas nos meninos e em ambientes urbanos. Estes conceitos podem ter impacto na adoção de práticas saudáveis tanto a nível individual como comunitário, contribuindo para a promoção e manutenção da saúde. A interacção destes elementos é complexa e diversa, e abordá-los adequadamente pode ter um impacto significativo na saúde geral do indivíduo e da sociedade como um todo.
