Abstract

The present contribution reflects on the philosophy and sense of the social participation in education, analyzing the results of an investigation on the participation of parents and mothers in the schools and municipalities of Castilla-La Mancha. The lack of debate and consensus on which we want that it is the participation and the little unamimity on the explanations of which at the moment is, provide a diffuse panorama on which they are tried to establish attachment lines. To the theory data are gotten up, arguments to the explanations and alternatives to the situations, treating that to advance in a thematic one of the permanent present time but little solved. The results of the study go deep in the low degree of real participation that occurs in the centers, that contrast with formal the participation discharge in the Scholastic Councils. The lack of formation, time and supports is more the frequently used reasons like causes of the participation loss. This, being certain, does not have to hide the crisis of a model that has not managed to imply to interested in the construction of true educative communities. The analysis and interpretation of the situation allow to propose some alternatives for the improvement.
