Abstract
Digital Competence (DC) acquires a fundamental value for active citizenship. However, given the lack of diagnostic tools for the level of development of this competence in primary school, due to the difficulty of measuring this variable at an early age, this study presents a test that evaluates, objectively and globally, the knowledge related to the DC of students in the last cycle of primary education. The design and piloting of this tool is presented in four phases: literature review, expert judgment, pilot experience and user survey. As a result, two products emerge: the assessment instrument and a protocol for teachers aiming to implement the test. In conclusion, we highlight the importance of carrying out objective DC evaluation processes that, in addition to measuring student knowledge, are useful for implementing compensatory measures aiming to close the digital gap and improve digital skills from an early age.
