Better results with the new entrance examination?
Main Article Content
Abstract
INTRODUCTION: We describe three models of access that have been implemented over the period studied (1994-2010), and some of the research in the field of analysis of results is cited. METHODS: Data were provided by the UPV-EHU and by, individuals and schools, from 1994 to 2008 and those referring to the last two school years developed by the university. We performed a descriptive analysis using Excel and SPSS. RESULTS: The average score of the entrance test (before calculating the average with the high school record) has a tendency to rise, gradually and at a slow pale, but steadily. Each time the model has changed, access conditions have become more relaxed and the average score has risen. With the latest model, features of the two phases are very different. The overall phase produces better averages than last year’s and also improces averages in the same subjects with respect to the specific phase. DISCUSSION: These results are valid for the UPV-EHU, some of which coincide with those of other universities, but the results of future examination calls must be gathered and studied in order to validate conclusions.
