Absenteeism in university education: an obstacle for the participation and self-guided work of students
Main Article Content
Abstract
Currently, absenteeism is a problem at the university level, as it challenges some of the basic premises which are presently upheld in the European Space for Higher Education (E.S.H.E.), such as self-guided learning, a commitment to and responsibility in the process of learning. Analysing the reasons for low participation and absenteeism among those students seeking to complete the degree of Education is the main focus of this paper, which aims to clarify the academic reality of students at different stages of their learning processes, as well as establishing procedures to improve their participation, satisfaction, and scholarly performance.
