Motivação, barreiras e benefícios para a prática de exercício físico em uma intervenção móvel de saúde em adultos de Biobío, Chile

Resumo

Introdução: Embora a eficácia das intervenções de saúde móvel (mHealth) para aumentar o exercício físico tenha sido documentada, há evidências limitadas sobre a motivação, barreiras e benefícios associados à prática de exercício físico neste tipo de intervenções de saúde móvel. Objetivo: Examinar as diferenças de motivação, barreiras e benefícios entre o exercício físico via mHealth e presencial. Método: Estudo pré-experimental em 37 adultos (96,5% mulheres, 43 ±10,5 anos) de Biobío, Chile, que participaram de uma intervenção de exercício físico via mHealth. Foram utilizados o Questionário de Regulação do Comportamento do Exercício (BREQ-3) e a Escala de Benefícios/Barreiras do Exercício (EBBS). Resultados: Após a intervenção, o grupo de exercício físico mHealth apresentou maior pontuação de motivação de regulação externa (3,25 ±3,79 v/s 1,08 ±1,60; t(33,676)= 2,434, p= 0,020, d= 0,676), menor pontuação de motivação integrada (3,25 ±3,79 v/s 1,08 ±1,60; t(33,676)= 2,434, p= 0,020, d= 0,676 ), e menor índice de autodeterminação na prática de exercício físico (45,25 ±26,54 v/s 67,38 ± 19,61; t(35)= -2,635, p= 0,012, d= 0,908) do que o grupo de exercícios físicos presenciais. Não foram observadas diferenças significativas nas barreiras e benefícios para a prática de exercício físico. Conclusões: O exercício via mHealth gerou maior motivação externa e menos motivação integrada em comparação com o exercício presencial. Essas descobertas apóiam o potencial da tecnologia mHealth para promover a motivação para a atividade física e superar as barreiras percebidas.
