Resumo. O objetivo da presente investigação foi duplo: 1) Comparar a atividade muscular do quadril e da coxa de jogadores profissionais de futebol ao realizar o agachamento isométrico com e sem contração controlada do quadril; 2) Determinar as relações musculares que ocorrem durante estes métodos de execução do exercício. Métodos: 11 jogadores de futebol profissional do sexo masculino, saudáveis, realizaram aleatoriamente três modalidades de agachamento isométrico a 60 ° de flexão do joelho: agachamento convencional (SQ), agachamento com contração de abdução do quadril (SQ-ABD) e agachamento com contração de adução do quadril (SQ-ADD) , controlado a 70% de 1 repetição máxima. A atividade do glúteo médio (GM), tensor da fáscia lata (TFL), vasto medial (VM), vasto lateral (VL), semitendíneo (ST) e bíceps femoral (BF) foi obtida por meio de eletromiografia de superfície. Foram analisadas as relações quadril (GM / TFL), quadríceps (VM / VL) isquiotibiais (ST / BF) e isquiotibiais / quadríceps (H / Q). Resultados: GM aumenta em SQ-ABD e SQ-ADD em comparação com SQ (p <0,01). Os músculos TFL, VL, SM e BF têm atividade significativamente maior no SQ-ADD em comparação ao SQ (p <0,05). Os músculos VL, VM e BF aumentam significativamente sua atividade no SQ-ADD em comparação ao SQ-ABD (p <0,05). GM / TFL, VM / VL e ST / BF não mostraram diferenças significativas entre os três métodos de agachamento isométrico. A razão H / Q foi maior em SQ-ABD e SQ-ADD em comparação com SQ (p <0,01). Conclusão: O agachamento com contração em adução do quadril de forma controlada aumenta a atividade muscular do quadril e da coxa. A realização dessa manobra combinada pode ter benefícios no treinamento e na reabilitação esportiva, pois aumenta a razão H / Q dos jogadores de futebol.
