Os efeitos do treinamento em circuito versus treinamento intervalado de alta intensidade na resistência de atletas de voleibol: um ensaio clínico randomizado

Apesar da sua natureza intermitente, o voleibol dá importância à elevada capacidade aeróbica, particularmente evidente em jogos multi-set que exigem níveis sustentados de alto desempenho. Existem diversas abordagens de treinamento para melhorar a resistência dos atletas de voleibol. Portanto, o objetivo fundamental desta pesquisa é examinar os efeitos contrastantes do uso de métodos de treinamento intervalado de alta intensidade (HIIT) e treinamento em circuito para melhorar a resistência de atletas de voleibol. O estudo utilizou um grupo experimental que participou de um regime de treinamento HIIT e um grupo de contraste que realizou um programa de treinamento em circuito. Trinta jogadores de voleibol do sexo masculino com idade entre 17 e 22 anos (M=19,14; DP±1,61) foram recrutados para o estudo e divididos em grupos contrastantes e experimentais de 15 cada. No início e ao final dos programas de intervenção, ambos os grupos foram submetidos a avaliações fisiológicas de Consumo Máximo de Oxigênio (VO2max), Recuperação da Frequência Cardíaca (FCR), Pico de Fluxo Inspiratório (PIF), Pico de Fluxo Expiratório (PFE) e Capacidade de Força Vital ( CVF). Como resultado, foi observada interação significativa Tempo x Grupo para VO2máx, FCR, PIF, PFE e CVF. Isto representa uma melhoria significativa no grupo de tratamento (p <0,001). Nenhuma mudança substancial foi observada no grupo de comparação. Os resultados revelaram que a abordagem de treino HIIT superou o método de treino em circuito na melhoria da resistência dos atletas de voleibol. Consequentemente, deveria ser benéfico para os jogadores de voleibol incorporar o HIIT nos seus regimes de treino padrão.
