Abstract

The present Spanish society, more and more multicultural and poliethnic, needs the School to develop innovatory projects to serve the increasing diversity of its pupils. The present article describes the research carried out in a Primary Education School, with pupils from different cultures and ethnic groups. The aim of the project is to develop a new educational model that improves the attention to an heterogeneous group of pupils and facilitates the integration of this group into the educational and social community. The research focuses on two essential fields of the current educational model: didactic and organizational planning and the presence of foreing pupils, as an specific variable of diversity. In this framework, and by means of the appropiate self-assessment processes, the research is aimed at building a diagnosis of strengths and weaknesses in the referred fields of operation, so that the second ones are the elements in which the development of a new and innovatory educational model is based on.
