Caracterização sociodemográfica do corredor de resistência: risco de lesão e perfil psicossocial. Uma exposição contemporânea

Resumo

O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar e descrever o perfil sociodemográfico e psicossocial, bem como identificar o risco de lesão de uma amostra contemporânea de corredores amadores de resistência em relação a variáveis ​​individuais, volume de treino e personalidade. Um total de 147 corredores de resistência (114 homens e 33 mulheres; idade: 42,66 ± 11,54 anos; IMC: 22,83 ± 2,47 kg/m2) preencheram um questionário ad hoc elaborado para atletas com mais de 18 anos de idade. Foram observadas diferenças significativas (p<0,001) devido à presença de um personal trainer, com as mulheres a reportarem uma percentagem superior aos homens. A maioria dos atletas (68%) lesionou-se nos últimos 3 anos e não foram encontradas diferenças significativas entre os sexos. O perfil do corredor de resistência é o de um homem normal de 40 anos, com alguma ansiedade e mau humor, que estudou na universidade e trabalha, é casado ou tem companheiro. Treina há 16 anos, percorre 51 quilómetros por semana, participa em 12 competições anuais e lesionou-se 2 vezes nos últimos 3 anos. A lesão mais comum é a tendinite, sendo as causas das lesões encontradas neste estudo o calçado e o alcance de objetivos pessoais.
