Valores de referência para a prova de 5.000 metros em atletas chilenos de 35 a 74 anos: estudo transversal

Resumo

Introdução: O atletismo é um esporte que busca superar o desempenho atlético dos adversários em um conjunto de modalidades. Objetivo: Desenvolver uma escala qualitativa para avaliação do desempenho atlético na corrida de 5.000 metros rasos em atletas chilenos entre 35 e 74 anos. Material e métodos: Estudo descritivo transversal, cuja amostra incluiu 449 atletas master femininos e 903 masculinos que participaram da prova de 5.000 metros rasos durante o período de 2014 a 2022, dados obtidos no registro da Federação de Atletismo Master do Chile . O desempenho atlético foi determinado através do tempo de realização do teste, enquanto a escala qualitativa foi construída com percentis < 10, ≥ 10, ≥ 25, ≥ 50, ≥ 75, correspondendo aos critérios excelente, muito bom, bom, médio e pobre. Resultados: Na prova de corrida de 5.000 metros. A média foi de 21:04:34 e 25:36:46 para homens e mulheres, respectivamente. Em geral, o erro padrão da média = 00:05:81 para o sexo masculino e 00:11:70 para o sexo feminino, reportando diferenças significativas e um grande tamanho de efeito (p < 0,001; d > 0,8) em todas as categorias de idade com base no sexo. Conclusão: A criação da escala qualitativa para a prova dos 5000 metros rasos permite avaliar e classificar o nível desportivo em atletas entre os 35 e os 74 anos.
