Resumo

Introdução. O exercício físico melhora a saúde psicofísica dos idosos. No entanto, existem variáveis ​​sociodemográficas que favorecem ou dificultam a prática desportiva que têm sido pouco investigadas (escolaridade, rendimento, género e estado civil), nem se tem dado atenção a estas variáveis ​​em relação aos diferentes desportos praticados (ginástica, atividades aquáticas, ioga). , pilates e dança). Mirar. Portanto, o objetivo deste estudo foi conhecer o perfil sociodemográfico de idosos praticantes de esportes. Procedimento. A escala de qualidade de vida CUBRECAVI e um questionário sociodemográfico foram utilizados numa amostra de 358 pessoas com mais de 60 anos (M = 69,66, DP = 4,74). Resultados. Os resultados demonstraram que entre os idosos que praticam ginástica há mais participantes que possuem menor escolaridade (p < 0,001), baixa renda (p < 0,001); e mulheres (p = 0,003); e que pessoas solteiras e divorciadas realizam atividades de dança em maior proporção do que outras atividades (p = 0,004). Conclusões. Concluindo, a atividade desportiva praticada pelos idosos está relacionada com o nível de escolaridade que possuem, o rendimento que recebem, o género e o seu estado civil.
