Associação entre condição física e peso em estudantes do Ensino Fundamental

Resumo

Evidências científicas indicam que a condição física é um biomarcador de saúde desde a primeira infância e um grande preditor de saúde e hábitos saudáveis ​​ao longo da vida. Objetivo: O objetivo deste estudo foi conhecer o nível de aptidão física em escolares de 6 a 12 anos em função do sexo e dos ciclos do Ensino Fundamental (EF). Um objetivo secundário foi estabelecer se existe ou não associação entre condição física e índice de massa corporal (IMC). Método: 379 estudantes de educação física (172 meninas) com idades entre 6 e 12 anos participaram deste estudo descritivo e transversal na Andaluzia. Os testes desenvolvidos foram: velocidade de 25m, prova de ida e volta de 20m (capacidade aeróbica) e salto horizontal (força). Resultados: Foram observadas diferenças significativas por sexo: os meninos apresentaram melhor desempenho nos testes de capacidade aeróbica (p<0,05) e velocidade (p<0,001) em relação às meninas. Além disso, foram encontradas diferenças significativas por sexo nos ciclos de EF. Conclusões: Os rapazes apresentam melhores níveis de aptidão física comparativamente às raparigas em todas as variáveis ​​analisadas. Além disso, a associação entre condição física e IMC mostra que uma melhor condição física se correlaciona positivamente com um menor IMC, corroborando a importância da condição física desde as fases iniciais como biomarcador de saúde e prevenção da obesidade infantil.
