The objective of this article is to conduct a systematic literature review, from which a theoretical-conceptual framework was developed. This was studied using the PICO strategy for formulating the research question: "Which basic physical skills influence the cognitive processing of children, adolescents, and young adults?" Similarly, employing a PRISMA method for inquiry and article classification, the categorization of 14 documents was achieved. This allowed us to conclude that there is sufficient information about the influence of physical skills, but, in the case of the adolescent and young adult population, further exploration of the subject is required.
Key words: cognition, cognitive process, basic physical skills.
