Resumo

O objetivo deste trabalho foi desenvolver uma revisão sistemática, baseada nos resultados encontrados em torno dos termos Saúde Bucal e Olimpíadas Especiais para atletas com Deficiência Intelectual. Para realizar a busca dos documentos, foram utilizadas as seguintes palavras-chave: “Saúde Bucal” e “Deficiência Intelectual”. Os documentos foram localizados nas bases de dados Scopus e Web of Science. Para adequar a busca ao objeto de estudo, estabeleceu-se uma série de critérios de inclusão: i) Selecionar qualquer tipo de documento científico, ii) Descrever pelo menos uma característica da influência da saúde bucal em atletas que disputam as Olimpíadas Especiais ( mínimo 50 palavras), iii) Estar escrito em inglês, português ou espanhol, e iv) Estar disponível o texto completo ou ter o resumo, sendo elegíveis manuscritos publicados do ano 2000 a outubro de 2022. Documentos sobre saúde bucal em atletas com deficiência intelectual As deficiências que participam das Olimpíadas Especiais apresentam uma condição de saúde bucal inferior ao restante da população e destacam a necessidade de promover e incentivar programas de tratamento e prevenção para esse grupo populacional.
