Um estudo transversal: o impacto de condições climáticas extremas, qualidade do sono e atividade física

Resumo

Este estudo tem como objetivo explorar o impacto das condições climáticas extremas na qualidade do sono e na atividade física em Gorontalo usando um desenho de pesquisa transversal. Os dados foram coletados de 220 entrevistados com idades entre 18 e 25 anos usando o Índice de Qualidade do Sono de Pittsburgh (PSQI), o Questionário Internacional de Atividade Física (IPAQ) e informações meteorológicas do BMKG Gorontalo. Os resultados mostraram que condições climáticas extremas, especialmente altas temperaturas, reduziram significativamente a atividade física e afetaram a qualidade do sono. Os entrevistados com maiores níveis de atividade física apresentaram melhor qualidade do sono (menores escores do PSQI). As condições meteorológicas extremas também reduzem a motivação para o exercício, aumentando o risco de problemas de saúde como desidratação e insolação. Em conclusão, são urgentemente necessárias intervenções de saúde pública que promovam a actividade física e melhorem a qualidade do sono durante condições meteorológicas extremas para reduzir os riscos para a saúde associados. Este estudo destaca a importância de compreender os mecanismos específicos de como as condições climáticas extremas afetam o sono e a atividade física, e de desenvolver estratégias para manter rotinas saudáveis, apesar das condições climáticas adversas.
