Efeitos de um programa de treinamento em circuito na melhoria da aptidão cardiorrespiratória, força dos membros superiores e agilidade em indivíduos paraplégicos

O exercício e o desporto podem desempenhar um papel crucial para as pessoas com deficiência devido aos seus níveis restritos de atividade física. Entre as pessoas com deficiência, a prática de desporto e exercício tem o potencial de melhorar significativamente o seu funcionamento físico e fisiológico. Nesse sentido, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi investigar os efeitos de um programa de treinamento em circuito na aptidão cardiorrespiratória, força musculoesquelética e agilidade de cadeirantes. O estudo envolveu 28 participantes com paraplegia em decorrência de lesão medular, com idade entre 19 e 40 anos, que foram divididos em dois grupos: um grupo experimental (GE, n = 14) que participou de circuito de treinamento, e um grupo controle. grupo (GC, n = 14) que realizou exclusivamente exercício aeróbico para membros superiores. Todos os sujeitos participaram do teste de ioiô em cadeira de rodas e do teste de preensão manual, ambos realizados no início e no final do período de treinamento. Os resultados mostraram interação Tempo x Grupo significativa para ambas as variáveis, indicando melhora substancial no grupo intervenção (p < 0,001), enquanto não foram observadas alterações significativas no grupo controle. Portanto, os resultados sugerem que a incorporação do treino em circuito na rotina diária dos utilizadores de cadeiras de rodas tem um impacto positivo no seu bem-estar geral, melhorando, em última análise, a sua qualidade de vida.
