Resumen

Objetivo: Investigar las relaciones entre factores de personalidad, percepciones de miedo y fobia social en jugadores de baloncesto de alto rendimiento durante la pandemia de Covid 19. Métodos: La muestra estuvo compuesta por jugadores de baloncesto de alto rendimiento mayores de edad que compiten en la liga Novo BasqueteBrasil o Liga Super Basketball. Se aplicaron los siguientes cuestionarios: Escala de Miedo Covid-19 (CME-19), Escala de Severidad de Ansiedad Social y el Inventario de los Cinco Grandes Factores de Personalidad (IGFP-5) utilizando la herramienta de formularios de Google. El enlace con los cuestionarios fue enviado vía WhatsApp a los deportistas. Resultados: Se identificó una correlación negativa entre el tiempo de práctica y la escrupulosidad. La conciencia acusó una correlación positiva con el miedo a contraer covid-19. Hubo una correlación positiva entre el miedo al covid 19 y la ansiedad social. La extroversión mostró una asociación positiva con la ansiedad y el miedo al covid 19. Conclusión: El presente estudio identificó una correlación estadísticamente positiva entre la escrupulosidad y el miedo a contraer Covid-19. También detectó una correlación positiva entre el miedo a contraer Covid-19 y la ansiedad social. con ansiedad social y con miedo al Covid 19. Como recomendación para futuros estudios se sugiere realizar estudios tomando en cuenta a las mujeres deportistas.

Abstract. Objective: To investigate the relationships between personality factors, perceptions of fear and social phobia in high-performance basketball players during the Covid 19 pandemic. Methods: The sample consisted of high-performance basketball players of legal age who compete in the Novo BasqueteBrasil or Liga Super Basketball league. The following questionnaires were applied: Covid-19 Fear Scale (CME-19), Social Anxiety Severity Scale and the Big Five Personality Factors Inventory (IGFP-5) using the Google forms tool. The link with the questionnaires was sent via WhatsApp to the athletes. Results: A negative correlation was identified between practice time and conscientiousness. Conscientiousness accused a positive correlation with fear of contracting covid-19. There was a positive correlation between fear of covid 19 and social anxiety. Extroversion showed a positive association with anxiety and fear of covid 19. Conclusion: The present study identified a statistically positive correlation between conscientiousness and fear of contracting Covid-19. It also detected a positive correlation between fear of contracting Covid-19 and social anxiety. with social anxiety and with the fear of Covid 19. As a recommendation for future studies, it is suggested studies taking female athletes into account.
