Abstract

This study shows that physical-sport leisure activities young experiences’ capacity encourages values that optimize the psychological dimension of health in adolescents, as well as offering educational proposals that guide the intervention programmes. The value of health has been analysed deepening in parents, professors and youths’ perception about psychological dimension of health. A qualitative methodology has been used, based on analysis of content of discussion groups and another quantitative methodology through the questionnaire technique. Results confirm: 1) the high importance granted to psychological dimension of health by all the collectives, standing out that of the parents; 2) psychological benefit is the fourth more mentioned reason by students for their physical- sport practice, and 3) lastly, the importance granted by students and professors, not parents, to the necessity of contemplating adolescents’ psychological dimension for all educational agents involved in the design of educational intervention programmes in physical-sport leisure.
