O que sabem os alunos galegos sobre suporte básico de vida? um estudo descritivo

Antecedentes: A formação de escolares é uma questão importante na promoção da participação do público leigo na melhoria da sobrevivência após parada cardíaca extra-hospitalar. Para esta formação de qualidade é necessário conhecer o que os escolares sabem para estabelecer o que precisam aprender sobre o assunto. Por esse motivo, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar o conhecimento sobre SBV de alunos do 5º e 6º anos do Ensino Fundamental e de alunos do 1º, 2º e 3º anos do Ensino Médio.
Métodos: Durante o primeiro trimestre do ano letivo 2021/2022, foi realizado um inquérito a 947 alunos do Ensino Básico (n=308) e Secundário (n=639) entre os 10 e os 17 anos de quatro escolas apoiadas com fundos públicos de a Xunta da Galiza.
Resultados: 62,81% dos escolares pesquisados receberam capacitação prévia. 92,30% responderam incorretamente à sequência correta de ações diante de uma pessoa com possível parada cardíaca e 93,14% responderam à ordem correta de execução do DEA para uma alta efetiva. 82,40% dos escolares conhecem o número do telefone de emergência. Os alunos do ensino secundário e os que receberam formação prévia apresentam melhores conhecimentos do que os do Ensino Básico (p < 0,001) e os que não a receberam (p < 0,001), embora em ambos os casos não atinjam 5 pontos em 10.
Conclusões: Os alunos galegos do Ensino Básico e Secundário têm baixos conhecimentos em Suporte Básico de Vida, razão pela qual não contribuem para a iniciativa “Crianças Salvam Vidas”.
