Os videogames podem melhorar o equilíbrio em mulheres com mais de 60 anos?

Resumo

Objetivo: o objetivo deste estudo foi mensurar a utilidade da incorporação de videogames como programa de treinamento de atividade física para mulheres acima de 60 anos. Métodos: Um desenho intergrupo, intragrupo e multigrupo em três grupos foi usado, bem como metodologia experimental. Mulheres acima de 60 anos (N = 43, idade = 67,74 ± 5,03 anos), realizaram um treinamento proprioceptivo e resistido durante três meses e três sessões semanais. Os participantes foram divididos em: grupo controle (GC) (n = 11; idade = 67,09 ± 6,25 anos), não realiza o treinamento experimental. O grupo experimental 1 (GE1: N = 16; idade = 66,94 ± 4,14 anos) realizou um programa de treinamento proprioceptivo e resistido de 40 minutos, acrescentando o uso de videogame durante 20 minutos. O grupo experimental 2 (GE2) (N = 16; idade = 69,00 ± 4,99 anos), realizou o mesmo treinamento sem o treinamento de videogame. Resultados: Encontramos melhora no GE1 na gordura corporal, equilíbrio com e sem visão, força isométrica de mão dominante e VO2máx. O grupo EG2 melhora no índice de massa corporal (IMC), gordura corporal, força isométrica da mão não dominante e VO2máx. CG não muda. Conclusão: A adesão a um programa de treinamento físico, incluindo exercícios proprioceptivos e resistidos aeróbios, resultou em queda de peso e IMC e melhora do VO2máx em ambos os grupos (GE1 e GE2). Além disso, se o programa de treinamento for concluído com o uso de videogames (GE1), o equilíbrio estático monopodal melhora mais que GE1 e GE2, com e sem visão, o que é considerado benéfico para prevenir quedas em mulheres acima de 60 anos.
