Perturbação de videojogos, hábitos alimentares e motivação para a prática de atividade física em alunos do ensino básico: um estudo transversal

Resumo

O distúrbio do jogo é uma condição reconhecida pela Organização Mundial de Saúde, caracterizada pelo uso excessivo e problemático de videojogos, tanto online como offline. Esta perturbação pode ter um impacto significativo no desempenho académico, nas relações pessoais e na saúde física e mental, tornando-se um problema crescente, sobretudo entre os adolescentes. O objetivo desta investigação foi verificar se existe relação entre a perturbação de videojogos, os hábitos alimentares e a motivação para a prática de atividade física em alunos do ensino básico. Utilizou-se uma abordagem quantitativa com um desenho não experimental do tipo descritivo correlacional e transversal. A amostra foi constituída por 222 estudantes de ambos os sexos, que responderam ao Teste de Dependência de Videojogos, ao Questionário de Hábitos Alimentares e à escala PALMS, instrumentos com propriedades métricas adequadas. Os resultados revelaram que a perturbação dos videojogos está inversa e significativamente correlacionada com os hábitos alimentares (rs = -0,411, p < 0,01) e com a motivação para a prática de atividade física (rs = -0,397, p < 0,01). Além disso, foi encontrada uma correlação direta e significativa entre os hábitos alimentares e a motivação para a prática de atividade física (rs = 0,428, p < 0,01). Conclui-se que existe uma relação significativa entre a perturbação de videojogos, os hábitos alimentares e a motivação para a prática de atividade física em alunos do ensino básico.
