Depressão, ansiedade e stress como preditores do prazer de praticar atividade física em estudantes universitários: um estudo transversal

Resumo

O prazer da atividade física desempenha um papel importante na motivação para se manter ativo. Quando as pessoas encontram prazer nos exercícios, é mais provável que os incorporem regularmente no seu dia-a-dia. Este prazer não só melhora a adesão à atividade física, como também aumenta os benefícios para o bem-estar geral. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi determinar se a depressão, a ansiedade e o stresse predizem o prazer da atividade física numa amostra de estudantes universitários peruanos. Foi realizado um estudo quantitativo, não experimental, preditivo e transecional com uma amostra de 213 estudantes selecionados através de amostragem probabilística. Foram aplicadas a Escala de Depressão, Ansiedade e Stress (DASS-21) e a Escala de Prazer em Atividade Física (PACES), ambas com propriedades métricas adequadas. Os resultados revelaram que apenas a depressão tem um efeito preditivo e significativo no prazer da atividade física (β= -0,467, p<0,05). Além disso, o modelo ajustou-se adequadamente aos dados (F= 26,681, p< 0,05) e explicou 26,7% da variabilidade do prazer da atividade física (R²= 0,267). Finalmente, concluiu-se que a depressão prediz o prazer da atividade física numa amostra de estudantes universitários peruanos. Assim, recomenda-se a implementação de programas de saúde mental para reduzir os problemas emocionais e psicológicos em geral, e ao mesmo tempo promover o prazer da atividade física, promovendo o bem-estar integral entre os estudantes universitários.
