Avaliação ecográfica do músculo da parede abdominal e nível de experiência em Pilates – um estúdio exploratório

O core refere-se a um grupo de músculos que permite uma transferência ótima de força ao longo da cadeia cinética do corpo e é fundamental para o movimento. O objetivo deste estúdio experimental foi investigar a relação entre o nível de experiência dos participantes de Pilates e o grosso da parede abdominal. Para tal, comparámos o grosso de quatro músculos abdominais: transverso abdominal (TrA), oblíquo interno (IO), oblíquo externo (EO) e reto abdominal (RA), medidos antes e depois de 8 semanas de treino de Pilates em três modos, sabre, relaxamento, vaciado abdominal e exercício de prancha. Os participantes foram distribuídos por três grupos com diferentes níveis de prática de Pilates: grupos experimentados (GE; n=6), inexperientes (GI; n=7) e controlo (GC; n=5). O RA apresentou uma tendência de aumento pós-intervenção no GE (todos os modos: p=0,002, p=0,006 e p=0,002, respetivamente para o modo de relaxamento, volume abdominal e plano de torta). Além disso, encontrará diferenças significativas nos modos de relacionamento (p=0,003, d=−0,744) e plano (p=0,009, d=−0,630) no IG. Registam-se também diferenças significativas no músculo EO no IG (todos os modos: p=0,046, p=0,013 e p=0,008, respetivamente; d=0,464, d=−0,596 e d=−0,637, respetivamente). O grosso do músculo IO tendeu a aumentar no CG em todos os modos (p=0,044, p=0,006 e p<0,001, respectivamente) e no EG nos modos relajación e plancha (p=0,009 e p=0,007, respectivamente). Dentro dos grupos, os efeitos da prática de Pilates foram mais significativos após a intervenção, com as exceções abaixo do modo de contração nos músculos mais profundos (IO: p=0,109, d=0,083; TrA: p=0,194, d =0,062) . A nossa hipótese foi parcialmente confirmada porque 8 semanas de prática de Pilates melhoraram significativamente o grosso dos músculos RA e EO no IG.
