Dor musculoesquelética e incapacidade do quadrante superior em estudantes de instrumentos de cordas: um estudo piloto transversal

Resumo

Fundamento: A dor musculoesquelética (DME) é prevalente em músicos e localiza-se principalmente no quadrante superior, afetando a funcionalidade. Os movimentos repetitivos, o tipo de instrumento, a idade e o sexo condicionam esse comportamento, entre outros fatores. Embora a evidência seja limitada, parece que os músicos de cordas estão entre os que mais frequentemente relatam dor e incapacidade de origem músculo-esquelética. Objetivo: Caracterizar o DME e o nível de incapacidade no quadrante superior associado à prática de instrumentos de cordas em alunos de conservatório. Método: Neste estudo piloto observacional transversal, seis instrumentos de avaliação autorrelatados foram aplicados a 14 estudantes de cordas (8 homens e 6 mulheres) de diferentes instrumentos (violino, viola, violão clássico, violoncelo e contrabaixo): Quick Dash Global (QDG) e Alto Desempenho/Músicos (QDL), Índice de Incapacidade Cervical (NDI), Escala de Graduação de Dor Crônica (EGDC), Questionário de Dor Neuropática (abreviado DN4) e Mapa Corporal de Dor (gráfico corporal). Resultados: 100% da amostra apresentava EMD no momento da avaliação, em sua maioria de baixa intensidade, sendo 21,42% dos casos crônicos e disseminados. 64,28% apresentavam dor neuropática. A funcionalidade geral medida com EGDC foi afetada em 71,42% dos indivíduos. A funcionalidade dos membros superiores apresentou QDG médio de 16,4 ±15,63 e QDL médio de 32,11 ±16,78, enquanto ao nível cervical 64,28% apresentaram incapacidade leve a moderada medida com NDI. Conclusão: EMD e deficiência no quadrante superior são condições comuns em estudantes cordofones. Estudos futuros deverão aprofundar as causas e investigar estratégias eficientes para prevenir essas condições ao longo do seu processo de formação.
