In this paper, the feminine and marital ideal exposed in the Castigos del rey Sancho is condensed and its presence is analyzed in the model of perfect wife and of the marital relations that Juan Manuel develops in the example 27 of El conde Lucanor. According to this Christian ideal of Thomistic influence, as a divine creature made to be a companion and auxiliary to man, she possesses an understanding inferior to that of a man, and she must be, like the Virgin Mary, a virtuous, active and submissive wife.
