JUAN COMAS CAMPS AND HIS INTENSE WORK FOR PEDAGOGICAL RENOVATION IN THE WESTERN CANARY ISLANDS

Abstract
The present article tries to describe and to analyze professional contribution of Juan Comas Camps, as inspector of Primary Education, during his stay in Tenerife between 1924 and 1927. Thanks to his work, the Pedagogical Museum of the Western Canary Islands was created, schools were graduated for the first time, school summer camps were promoted and new theories and renovated educational methodologies were set up, most of them unknown until then at the Islands.
