Determinantes da massa óssea em jovens tenistas chilenos

O estudo teve como objetivo analisar a relação entre força muscular e composição corporal com massa óssea em jovens tenistas chilenos. O estudo foi observacional, transversal, com características descritivas e analíticas. A amostra foi composta por 51 jovens tenistas chilenos (15,5±0,7 anos) do sexo masculino, selecionados de forma não probabilística e por conveniência. Foram mensuradas variáveis antropométricas de peso, altura, altura sentada, dobras cutâneas (tríceps, coxa anterior e perna medial), perímetros (braço, coxa e perna), diâmetro do fêmur e comprimento do antebraço, juntamente com a força de preensão palmar (MPF). ), arremesso de bola medicinal (LBM) e salto com contramovimento (CMJ). Aceleração da velocidade de crescimento de pico (APVC), massa muscular esquelética (MME), porcentagem de gordura (BF), densidade mineral óssea (BMD) e conteúdo mineral ósseo (BMC) foram calculados. Os resultados mostram que, nas variáveis de composição corporal, a EMM está melhor associada à DMO (R2= 25% p˂0,01) e CMO (R2= 20%; p˂0,01). Nos testes de força muscular, o CMJ apresenta a melhor relação com os indicadores de massa óssea, DMO (R2= 14%; p˂0,01) e CMO (R2= 19%; p˂0,01). Conclui-se que o MME é o indicador que apresenta a melhor relação com DMO e CMO nos tenistas avaliados, enquanto o CMJ é o teste de força muscular que apresenta a melhor relação com esses indicadores de massa óssea.
