Respostas fisiológicas de atletas de basquete em cadeira de rodas ao programa combinado de treinamento aeróbico e anaeróbico

Resumo

Dentre os diversos esportes adaptados, o basquete em cadeira de rodas se destaca como uma atividade em grupo altamente preferida entre pessoas com paraplegia, incluindo pessoas com lesão medular (LM). Os atletas que enfrentam esta deficiência específica apresentam alterações distintas nos seus sistemas metabólico, cardiorrespiratório, neuromuscular e termorregulador, levando, em última análise, à diminuição da capacidade respiratória fisiológica em comparação com pessoas saudáveis ​​ou com diferentes formas de deficiência. Assim, o objetivo principal do presente esforço de pesquisa é explorar o impacto de um regime de exercícios abrangente, abrangendo componentes aeróbicos e anaeróbicos, na melhoria da capacidade aeróbica de atletas de basquete em cadeira de rodas. Um total de 32 jogadores de basquete em cadeira de rodas, com idades entre 34 e 42 anos, foram incluídos no estudo, sendo metade designada para um grupo experimental realizando treinamento aeróbico e anaeróbico combinado [GE, n = 16], enquanto os demais participantes foram designados para um grupo experimental. grupo controle que realizou apenas treinamento físico aeróbico [GC, n = 16]. A distância de propulsão da cadeira de rodas de 12 minutos foi utilizada para avaliar o V̇O2máx em indivíduos com paraplegia, tanto pré quanto pós-intervenção. Os resultados revelaram uma interação significativa Tempo x Grupo para a variável distância de propulsão da cadeira de rodas de 12 minutos, destacando uma melhora notável no grupo de tratamento (p < 0,001). Pelo contrário, não foram detectadas alterações substanciais no grupo de controlo. Portanto, os resultados sugerem que a integração de exercícios aeróbicos e anaeróbicos produz um impacto positivo considerável no desempenho aeróbico de jogadores de basquetebol em cadeira de rodas.
