Participação das mulheres nos cargos de decisão de gestão do desporto autárquico: Um estudo na Comunidade Intermunicipal do Tâmega e Sousa

Resumo

A cadência crescente da representatividade das mulheres em cargos superiores de gestão do desporto é visível, ainda assim os homens continuam a ser dominantes nestes papéis, levando a um nível de desigualdade na gestão do desporto. A fim de compreender como este fenómeno se expande à gestão do desporto autárquico, o presente estudo possui como objetivo compreender a participação das mulheres na gestão do desporto autárquico. Foi feito um levantamento do número de mulheres a exercer cargos de relevância na gestão do desporto autárquico nos municípios pertencentes à Comunidade Intermunicipal do Tâmega e Sousa (CIM-TS). A amostra foi composta por seis mulheres, tendo sido submetidas a uma entrevista semiestruturada. Verificou-se que as mulheres na gestão do desporto autárquico estão sub-representadas, paralelamente ao que acontece nas organizações desportivas nacionais e internacionais. Apesar de não sentirem discriminação, apercebem-se que os estereótipos criados ainda persistem na sociedade no que respeita ao desporto ser para homens e liderado por homens e as responsabilidades familiares atribuídas às mulheres, apesar de assumirem as funções na esfera pública a tempo inteiro tal como os homens. As políticas públicas foram mencionadas, mais especificamente a lei da paridade como um meio de alavancar as mulheres no mundo da liderança e contrariar os estereótipos e barreiras, no entanto concordam que as mulheres são tão capazes ou mais que os homens, devendo assumir os cargos de decisão por meritocracia e não por imposição das leis.
