Contribuições do modelo Teaching Games for Understanding para a motivação e necessidades psicológicas básicas dos alunos

Resumo

A motivação para as aulas de Educação Física é um aspecto fundamental e o aprofundamento do conhecimento dos factores que a afectam oferece aos professores chaves para introduzir mudanças no seu trabalho docente. Este trabalho analisa, a partir de uma abordagem metodológica mista, como o modelo Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) afeta a motivação e as Necessidades Psicológicas Básicas (BNP) dos alunos do 1º ano do ESO. O estudo envolveu n=74 no âmbito de uma intervenção com o modelo TGfU e n=77 no âmbito de uma intervenção seguindo um modelo tradicional. Foi administrada a Escala de Necessidades Psicológicas Básicas de Exercício, à qual foram acrescentados os cinco itens de satisfação da necessidade de novidade da Escala de Satisfação com a Novidade e a segunda versão da Escala de Lócus de Causalidade Percebida para mensurar os diferentes tipos de motivação e o NPB. Também foram realizados grupos de discussão para conhecer a experiência dos alunos com as variáveis ​​do estudo. Os resultados mostraram aumento dos quatro NPB e diferenças a favor no grupo intervenção, além de aumento da motivação intrínseca, integrada e identificada e diminuição da motivação externa e da desmotivação. Por outro lado, foi encontrada correlação entre mudanças na autonomia e novidade com mudanças na motivação intrínseca, identificada e introjetada, bem como entre mudanças no relacionamento e mudanças na motivação intrínseca. As conclusões encontradas nos grupos de discussão apoiaram os resultados obtidos a nível quantitativo e ajudam a compreender as mudanças.
