Resumo

Nos últimos anos, os estudantes universitários têm apresentado uma diminuição nos níveis de atividade física. Os objetivos do presente estudo foram comparar e associar parâmetros de composição corporal e desempenho físico em estudantes universitários do primeiro ano de educação física. Participaram 72 estudantes de ambos os sexos (19 mulheres, 18,37±0,51 anos e 63 homens, 19,16±2,92 anos). Foram analisados ​​parâmetros de composição corporal e desempenho físico. Os resultados mostraram diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre homens e mulheres em massa corporal (p = 0,018), altura (p < 0,001), Σ6 vezes (p = 0,002), % de massa adiposa (p < 0,001), PA/SEM ( p < 0,001), CMJ (p < 0,001), T10 (p < 0,001), T30 (p < 0,001), MYYTRI1 (p < 0,001) e Vo2max (p = 0,043). Além disso, foram encontradas correlações significativas (p < 0,05) entre os níveis de Atividade Física semanal, parâmetros de composição corporal e desempenho físico. Conclui-se que existem diferenças entre homens e mulheres em relação ao volume/número de horas de atividade física semanal, sendo esta maior nos homens, má composição corporal nas mulheres juntamente com menor desempenho físico. Da mesma forma, a % de massa adiposa foi associada a medidas de condição física. À luz dos resultados, parece necessário fortalecer programas que promovam a atividade física entre estudantes universitários. Estes resultados podem servir de apoio às comunidades universitárias para reformarem programas de desenvolvimento desportivo e hábitos de vida saudáveis.
