Reasons for practice, hiring and perception of personal training service in premium clients

The aim of this study was to analyze the profile of premium personal training clients and evaluate their motivations for the practice of physical activity and hiring the service, as well as their perception of quality and appreciation of it. A survey was conducted of 92 participants identified as premium clients in different training centers in several cities of Spain. The results indicated that the profile of these clients presented an average age of 40 years and was characterized by a high motivation for improving health, a high level of service demands and a high tendency to loyalty. In addition, it was observed that the women valued significantly higher the empathy and responsiveness of the coach, the technical and motivational aspects, and the practice of health. On the other hand, it was found that participants who had been clients of personal training for longer, valued more the motivational aspects of the service, suggesting that this could be a key factor for loyalty. In conclusion, it can be affirmed that, in addition to the technical issues, the psychological, emotional and interpersonal skills of the coach are fundamental for their evaluation by the clients and for professional success.
