The aim of this study was to analyze the levels of physical condition in relation to lifestyles linked to tobacco and alcohol consumption in a population of hunters from Extremadura. The sample consisted of 144 hunters (98.61% men and 1.39% women) aged between 16 and 66 years, chosen by random sampling, mainly from different locations in Extremadura. Sociodemographic data of Gender, Age, Tobacco Consumption and Alcohol Consumption, anthropometric data of Weight, Height and the level of physical condition of the variables of Body Balance, Flexibility, Explosive Strength, Static Strength, Movement Speed, and Strength-Resistance were collected through the AFISAL-INEFC and Eurofit battery tests. The main findings showed that, for the most part, the hunters presented tobacco and alcohol consumption above the general population. Added to this, the hunters presented "low" levels of physical condition in most of the tests selected and used to assess said physical condition. However, in some tests such as Static Force they show higher levels than the general population. In conclusion, public political incentive strategies and programs for the promotion of healthy habits and styles are recommended, such as guidelines for physical-sporting activities and healthy eating.
Key words: Physical activity, sport, health, smoking, alcohol.
