Efecto de un programa de actividad física y educación nutricional para la mejora de hábitos saludables en educación primaria

Resumen

Introducción: la obesidad infantil se ha convertido en un problema grave de salud, por lo que es necesario el diseño de programas escolares que den solución a esta situación.

Objetivo: el objetivo de este trabajo es determinar el efecto de una intervención preventiva de la obesidad infantil en escolares de primaria, centrada en la educación nutricional y el aumento de la actividad física, a través del uso de las nuevas tecnologías como elemento motivador.

Metodología: la muestra está formada por 80 estudiantes del tercer ciclo de Educación Primaria, 38 chicos y 42 chicas de edades comprendidas entre 10 y 13 años. Para el desarrollo del programa de fomento de la actividad física y de la alimentación saludable, los participantes se dividen en dos grupos que llevan a cabo el mismo programa, pero un grupo además utiliza la aplicación móvil «Class Dojo» como refuerzo del mismo.

Resultados: se observaron diferencias significativas pre-post en ambos grupos siendo éstas algo superiores en el grupo que utiliza la aplicación móvil y una diferencia significativa del grupo que usa la aplicación móvil en cuanto a actitudes, creencias e intenciones en alimentación saludable, motivación y adherencia al programa.

Conclusiones: el programa de intervención mejora la condición física, nivel de actividad física y la alimentación y que el uso de una aplicación móvil mejora las actitudes, creencias e intenciones en alimentación saludable, la motivación y adherencia a dicho programa.
