Associação da força muscular com atenção, comportamento hiperativo-desatento, cálculo matemático e raciocínio linguístico em escolares diagnosticados com TDAH

Resumo

O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a possível associação da força muscular inferior, abdominal e manual com atenção, comportamento hiperativo-desatento em sala de aula, cálculo matemático e raciocínio linguístico em meninos e meninas com diagnóstico de Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção. Transtorno (TDAH). A amostra foi composta por 94 alunos com TDAH (50 meninas e 44 meninos, 53% e 47% respectivamente) com idade de 9,48 ± 2,10 anos. A atenção foi medida com o teste d2, o teste EDAH foi usado para comportamento hiperativo-impulsivo em sala de aula e dois testes ad hoc foram usados ​​para avaliar cálculo matemático e raciocínio linguístico. Os resultados mostraram que nas crianças existe uma associação negativa entre o nível de força abdominal e manual com a presença de comportamento hiperativo-desatento em sala de aula (p=0,001 ep=0,009, respectivamente). Nas meninas, maior força corporal inferior foi associada a maiores níveis de atenção (p=0,042) e força manual foi positivamente relacionada ao raciocínio linguístico (p=0,019). Conclui-se que maior força muscular está associada a melhor cognição e comportamento hiperativo-impulsivo em sala de aula em escolares diagnosticados com TDAH, independentemente de sua idade e IMC. Recomenda-se a implementação de programas de atividade física que visem melhorar a força muscular, pois podem beneficiar o processo de aprendizagem em alunos diagnosticados com TDAH.
