Dor nas costas em adolescentes: fatores associados a partir de uma abordagem multifatorial

Resumo

O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar a prevalência de dor nas costas em adolescentes e verificar a relação entre a dor nas costas e alguns fatores associados. A amostra foi composta por 57 escolares com média de idade de 14,11 ± 0,43 anos. Foram retirados os dados relativos ao peso e altura, com os quais foi calculado o IMC; O inquérito sobre dores nas costas em adolescentes foi aplicado para conhecer os hábitos de prática desportiva, sedentarismo, forma de carregar a mochila e dores nas costas; e a força flexora e extensora do tronco e a flexibilidade dos músculos isquiotibiais foram medidos. Verificou-se que 43,86% dos sujeitos já sofreram dores nas costas em algum momento da vida, sendo a dor lombar a mais comum (36,84%). Aproximadamente 15-25% dos adolescentes visitaram seu médico de família ou fisioterapeuta para dor nas costas durante a vida. Verificou-se certa tendência, sem diferenças significativas, de a presença de dores nas costas ser maior entre os praticantes de esportes (r = 0,250; p = 0,059), principalmente entre aqueles que praticavam menos horas semanais (r = 0,348; p = 0,076) . Os escolares que apresentaram dor nas costas tenderam a ter menor força flexora e extensora do tronco e menor extensibilidade dos músculos isquiotibiais, sem diferenças significativas entre os grupos (p> 0,05). Sexo, tempo em atividades sedentárias, forma de carregar a mochila e IMC também não estiveram relacionados à dor nas costas (p> 0,05). Concluindo, a prática esportiva, a força do tronco e a extensibilidade dos isquiotibiais são variáveis ​​que podem afetar a incidência de dores nas costas em adolescentes.
