Relação entre eficácia e resultado da partida na Liga Espanhola de Pólo Aquático

O objetivo do presente estudo foi identificar os indicadores de eficácia ofensiva que melhor discriminam por match score (favorável, balanceado ou desfavorável) no pólo aquático. A amostra foi composta por 88 jogos da temporada regular (2011-2014) da Liga Espanhola de Pólo Aquático Profissional. A análise univariada (teste ANOVA; teste de Kruskal-Wallis e teste do modelo linear generalizado (GLM)) e análise multivariada (discriminação) foram usadas para comparar jogos favoráveis, balanceados ou desfavoráveis, e os tamanhos de efeito das diferenças para os indicadores foram calculados. Os resultados mostraram que os jogos favoráveis tiveram médias significativamente mais altas para a taxa de sucesso em ataques e chutes regulares, ataques e chutes power-play, chutes de contra-ataque e contra-ataque, chutes da zona 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 e 6, drive disparos e disparos após 1, 2 e mais de 2 falsificações. Os indicadores de eficácia ofensiva que mais discriminaram foram a taxa de sucesso para tiros de direção (SC = -. 624), até mesmo ataques e tiros (SC = -. 359 e SC = -. 322, respectivamente), e para ações de power-play e tiros (SC = -. 343 e SC = -. 321, respectivamente). Esses resultados podem auxiliar os treinadores no planejamento do treinamento e da competição, fornecendo-lhes os percentuais de eficácia ofensiva que devem ser reforçados para que tenham mais chances de vencer a partida. Essas informações podem ajudar os treinadores a avaliar suas equipes e a projetar treinamentos destinados a melhorar suas habilidades mais fracas.
