Esports as a Phenomenon of the Digital Age: an Economic and Legal Analysis (on the Example of Ukraine and Switzerland)

Cybersport is developing rapidly in all developed regions of the world. Currently, eSports has acquired the characteristics of an important economic and socio-cultural factor that needs to be taken seriously. Accordingly, there is an urgent need to regulate social relations within its boundaries. This article is devoted to the analysis of the current state of economic and legal relations in the field of e-sports activities and the search for optimal ways of their improvement. The subject of the study is social relations arising in the field of e-sports. The research methodology includes the basic methods of scientific knowledge, which are the methods of analysis and synthesis, as well as the comparative legal method, which was used to compare the researched aspects in Switzerland and Ukraine. As a result of the research, a number of conclusions were made, which are important for law enforcement activities, can be used in rulemaking activities, and are also valuable from the point of view of the development of economic and legal doctrine.
