In this work, we have analyzed the manuscript, which we have called Obres de Baltasar Joan Balaguer and which Spanish critics believed to have been lost since the beginning of the second third of the 19th century. The manuscript has been described both from the physical and literary point of view and all the bibliography that mentioned it has been reviewed. It has been possible to establish the interrelations that some of the poems present; some biographical events of Baltasar Johan Balaguer have been dated; some literary competitions unknown until now have come to light; and, finally, some intuitions presented in previous works on competition literature have been complemented. This manuscript, produced in a period of scarce literary production, fills a gap both in competition poetry and shows examples of Valencian epistolary prose from the end of the 15th century and beginning of the 16th century.
