Abstract

Given the new reality of the EHEA, it becomes essential for teachers to change their ways of working to meet the new guidelines and educational lines. At the university, a different educational setting has emerged and the teacher must assume a number of substantial changes in the teaching and learning methodologies, and in the skills and competencies he needs to develop in order to work with and motivate students. This article presents a series of thoughts and action guidelines to help both current teachers and future teachers to think about the challenge of generating «good teaching practices», and about the huge importance of how to attract and maintain attention and interest of students through effective communication and impact. There is no doubt that communication is now more than ever a central theme in the field of university education. Furthermore, the fact that the quality of education relies largely on an Effective Communication is an inescapable reality.
