Comportamentos abusivos na relação atleta-treinador

Este estudo qualitativo tem como objetivo descrever a natureza dos comportamentos abusivos na relação atleta-treinador, na região de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Portugal. Para o nosso estudo entrevistamos 12 atletas de modalidades federadas. Apostamos em jovens atletas, dos 13 aos 18 anos, que praticam desportos colectivos, de combate ou individuais. Os dados foram estudados por meio de análise de conteúdo.
No caso dos atletas como vítimas, não há centro de abuso na relação atleta-treinador. Contudo, como observadores, os atletas relatam formas de abuso na relação atleta-treinador, como abuso emocional verbal e negação de cuidados e apoio. Como medidas preventivas contra maus-tratos, os atletas mencionarão a supervisão e até a despimentação do treinador. As pesquisas destacaram a necessidade de aprofundar o tema para que as estratégias sejam eficazes. Enfatizando a necessidade de sensibilizar os clubes para a proteção dos atletas, através de pesquisas na área de estudo, para combater e prevenir os maus-tratos no esporte.
