O efeito da idade relativa em esportes coletivos de invasão: uma revisão sistemática em esportes juvenis

A diferença de datas de nascimento entre atletas da mesma idade pode resultar em vantagem para o relativamente mais velho. Isso é conhecido como o efeito da idade relativa (RAE). Este efeito pode interferir na prática de atletas infanto-juvenis e também pode influenciar seu treinamento e desenvolvimento para atingir um alto nível do esporte. Este estudo teve como objetivo revisar pesquisas anteriores com base na seguinte questão: “Quais as influências e consequências do EIR na prática esportiva de jovens atletas em esportes coletivos de invasão?” O método utilizado foi uma revisão sistemática da literatura baseada no método PRISMA. Os descritores idade relativa efeito AND esporte foram utilizados nas plataformas Portal de Periódicos da CAPES e Pub Med. Após aplicar os critérios de inclusão e exclusão e realizar as análises necessárias, 82 artigos foram incluídos no estudo. Constatou-se que o alto nível competitivo, a popularidade do esporte, a percepção dos treinadores e as características biológicas, principalmente no período da puberdade, têm maior influência no efeito da idade relativa e interferem na permanência e na carreira esportiva dos jovens atletas.
