A psicologia do desporto desempenha um papel vital na melhoria do desempenho dos atletas de badminton. Fatores psicológicos como a motivação, ansiedade competitiva, concentração e resiliência mental foram identificados como influências críticas no desempenho do atleta. Este estudo tem como objetivo rever sistematicamente a literatura existente para identificar e analisar o papel da psicologia do desporto na melhoria do desempenho dos atletas de badminton. O investigador pesquisou artigos de revistas, livros e relatórios de investigação relevantes para a psicologia do desporto e o badminton em várias bases de dados eletrónicas através de uma abordagem sistemática de revisão da literatura. Foram aplicados critérios de inclusão específicos aos estudos selecionados que abordavam explicitamente o efeito das intervenções psicológicas no desempenho dos atletas de badminton. A análise dos dados foi realizada de forma qualitativa para sintetizar os achados da literatura escolhida. A revisão da literatura revelou que técnicas psicológicas como a definição de objetivos, técnicas de relaxamento, visualização e treino de resistência mental têm um impacto positivo no desempenho dos atletas de badminton. As descobertas sugerem que o treino psicológico integrado nos programas de treino dos atletas pode aumentar a motivação, reduzir a ansiedade competitiva, fortalecer a concentração e desenvolver a resiliência mental, todos factores críticos no desempenho desportivo. A psicologia do desporto é um elemento crítico no treino de atletas de badminton, com um potencial significativo para melhorar o desempenho do atleta. As intervenções psicológicas adaptadas às necessidades individuais dos atletas são promissoras para otimizar o potencial atlético e alcançar o sucesso competitivo. São necessárias pesquisas futuras para compreender melhor como integrar melhor estas técnicas psicológicas no treino de atletas de badminton e conceber programas de treino mais eficazes que aproveitem ao máximo o papel da psicologia desportiva.
