A escola ativa e o seu papel na promoção da saúde das crianças mais jovens em idade escolar

Resumo

Objectivo: Um estudo recente indicou um declínio no nível de aptidão física relacionada com a saúde entre crianças em idade escolar. A escola ativa oferece e desenvolve diversas estratégias para incentivar as crianças à prática de atividades físicas durante o dia escolar, com o objetivo de melhorar os seus resultados comportamentais, de desempenho físico e de literacia, entre outros benefícios. O objetivo da investigação foi examinar o impacto de um programa abrangente de movimento implementado numa escola fisicamente ativa sobre fatores selecionados de desempenho físico geral e postura como manifestação de aptidão física em alunos não praticantes. O estudo empregou diversas abordagens metodológicas, entre as quais: Um total de 25 crianças em idade escolar, com idades compreendidas entre os seis e os sete anos, participaram no estudo de forma voluntária. Os participantes foram divididos em dois grupos, com seis raparigas e sete rapazes em cada. A aptidão física dos alunos foi avaliada através da administração de testes padronizados selecionados, incluindo corrida de 4 x 10 m, abdominais de 60 segundos, salto em comprimento em pé, suspensão do braço fletido e corrida de agachamento de resistência em vários estágios de 20 metros . A postura dos escolares foi avaliada e classificada pelo método padronizado de Klein e Thomas, modificado por Mayer. O programa de exercício foi realizado durante um período de seis meses. A intervenção foi implementada duas vezes por dia, uma vez no intervalo e outra durante a aula sob a forma de intervalo para exercício, cinco vezes por semana e uma vez por semana através de atividade extracurricular de 45 minutos. Os resultados do estudo são os seguintes: Na amostra do estudo, houve uma melhoria significativa nas pontuações entre os pontos de entrada e de saída tanto para as raparigas como para os rapazes em cada teste. A comparação entre sexos revelou que os rapazes apresentaram valores superiores (p < 0,01) em todos os testes seleccionados em relação às raparigas. Em relação à postura geral, observamos uma melhoria em ambos os sexos (p < 0,01), não havendo diferenças por género.
Conclusão: Em conclusão, os resultados deste estudo confirmam que a tática de progressão da atividade física escolhida, o programa para os alunos mais jovens em idade escolar não praticantes/inativos, foi uma forma eficaz de melhorar a aptidão física relacionada com a saúde e a postura geral dos participantes, bem como motivar e criar interesse pelas atividades físicas.
