Resumo

O teste WDPK&C requer a manipulação de uma bola tanto com as extremidades superiores (soltar e pegar) quanto com as extremidades inferiores (arremessar). Os objetivos deste estudo foram: i) identificar qual das duas partes do pé (parte interna ou peito do pé) implicaria melhor desempenho no WDPK&C; ii) verificar se existe correlação significativa entre o desempenho de ambas as partes do pé no teste, e iii) procurar diferenças entre adolescentes precoces (10-13 anos) e de meia-idade (14-17 anos) nas variáveis ​​citadas . Participaram deste estudo 34 jovens jogadores de basquetebol (14,59 ± 1,93 anos). Considerando a amostra global, bem como apenas para o grupo de adolescentes precoces, o uso do peito do pé revelou-se mais eficaz do que o uso da parte interna do pé. Além disso, foram encontradas correlações muito fortes (amostra geral e adolescentes intermediários) e fortes (adolescentes iniciais) entre o desempenho de ambas as partes do pé. Porém, considerando exclusivamente adolescentes de nível médio, não foi encontrada supremacia no desempenho da parte dos pés. Parece que a maior eficácia no teste WDPK&C utilizando o peito do pé desaparece ao passar do início da adolescência para a meia adolescência, em jogadores de basquetebol do sexo masculino, provavelmente devido ao aumento da maturação e dos anos de prática.
